Chapter 7: She Was A Doctor
"I'm afraid that there has been a mistake, Mr.Roberts." The woman who had just spoken was Dawn Greenwood.
She was actually Michelle's aunt. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
In her eyes, Michelle was just some common girl. The perfect woman to match Ff Gerard should instead be her daughter.Gerard raised an eyebrow at her.
"Isn't she a member of the Greenwoods?"
Of course, Gerard made sure that a background check had been done before he decided to pay the Greenwoods a visit.
He already knew Michelle's name and that she was really a Greenwood despite not being favored much by the elders.
Her parents had passed away when she was young before the Greenwoods had taken her in.No one truly paid her much attention.
He thought that she was perfect.
The other women from the family were obviously spoiled.
Marrying one of them might just be a bother to him in the future.
In order to avoid any unnecessary trouble, he decided to marry Michelle who absolutely held no status in the Greenwoods.
Gerard took a glance once more at the girl in front of him.
She had changed so much in the past year.
If he didn't know what kind of person she was, he would have thought that she had a plastic surgery in Korea.
Over the past year, Michelle had lived a carefree life.
She had never set foot back in the Greenwoods' house, nor had she addressed herself with her last name in public. She despised being known as part of the Greenwoods. She didn't know who was taking advantage of whom in this marriage.
Michelle turned her head and looked out of the window.
Gerard's stare made her feel uneasy.
She knew that he just wanted to help her on a whim and that he didn't have any feelings for her.She remained quiet and told herself to stop thinking too much about it.
"Here we are, miss."
It took a while for Michelle to come back to her senses despite Damien calling out to her.
She blinked a few times before immediately rushing out of the car, gripping tightly on the handle of her bag.
There was no way that she wanted to meet Gerard for a second time.
Unless she had a high fever that she couldn't get rid of, she didn't know why she would want to see someone who was cold as ice.
Michelle involuntarily shivered during the past ten minutes of sitting together with him.
There was no doubt that Gerard was a really cold man.
Feeling the immense pressure in her chest, Michelle went to a nearby coffee shop and bought a cup of milk tea before walking into the white building in front of her.
"Good morning, Michelle!"
Nina beamed as she took the cup from her and brought it to her own mouth.
"You sure know how to enjoy your life, drinking some milk tea early in the morning to refresh yourself!"
Michelle worked as an intern at the biggest hospital in Binfield.
She was assigned at the emergency department, the busiest department of the hospital.
As a clinical graduate from a medical college, Michelle had to go through all departments during her internship.
This was her last department, and she would be able to be promoted to an official doctor soon.
Michelle smiled while trying to avoid Nina's subtle touches on her body.
After getting along with her for more than a year, she was already used to Nina's half-jokes.
Sometimes, Nina was being serious and sometimes she was joking.
It was hard to tell whether she was a lesbian or not.
What she was sure, however, was that Nina was a really erotic person.
No matter which department in the hospital it was, she always knew whenever there were handsome men and beautiful women present. Most of the time, she would be absent from her work to appreciate their beauty.
