The CEO’S Secret Mistress

Chapter 25 Her name is Darla

Blaine drove as fast as he could but he didn’t go to his house, knowing that he could be followed. Instead, he headed to his friend’s house. The second he saw his friend he pulled his playful friend back inside the house and locked the door.

” What the hell dude, I’m just trying to greet you!” Derrick, his friend said staring at him intently.

” Who else is in here with you?” Blaine asked while his friend focused on Mavis.

” Who’s this beauty. Wow, you really forgot about Victoria so quickly, I thought you’d never get over her.”

” Derrick people are after us and I need to stay in your place for a while,” Blaine asked.

” Stop this dude. This isn’t one of your action movie moments. Always having snarky remarks about action movies I recommend to you as if you’ve ever held a gun before or even been in a scene of attack.” He scoffed but Blaine was starting to lose his mind.

” Derrick…” He said calmly but his friend continued to rant.

” Derrick…”

” Shut your fucking mouth Derrick I’m not kidding!” He growled, pinning Derrick to the wall as he grabbed the collar of his shirt. Derrick froze at first then he looked at Mavis who looked visibly petrified and then at Blaine who looked furious with him.

” Some people are gonna come looking for me everywhere and you’re the only one they don’t know that I’m friends with. Do you understand why we have to stay here and keep a very low profile?” He asked.

” Okay, I understand” Derrick muttered before Blaine released his collar and arranged his friend’s shirt with an awkward smile.

” No hard feelings eh? Just needed you to understand the gravity of things” he said but Derrick just frowned.

” Why did you decide to come to my house anyway? It’s not like I have insane security here like at your mansion or your other friends’ mansion” Derrick said as he carried a beer from his fridge and went straight to his tiny living room to watch TV.

” Because they wouldn’t think I’ll be here”

” Oh yeah? Like your car isn’t parked in front of my house right now.” Derrick said sarcastically and Blaine sighed.

” We walked here. I left the car parked somewhere else.” He said and Derrick just shook his head.

” Whatever” he scoffed and proceeded to change the channel but Blaine got to the remote first.

” What’s the issue here?” Derrick asked, throwing his hands in the air as he watched Blaine contemplating what to do with his remote.

” You can’t watch TV. I need this place as normal as possible”

” Well, the only normal thing a human being would do in his house is to watch TV since he’s been sacked from work, Blaine. He would drink and get drunk, that’s what he’ll do.” Derrick argued then he ran his hand through his long brown hair. His hair was so long that the minute he ran his hand through it, the ponytail he had it in got loose and Mavis stared at his hair length.

” You’re not gonna cooperate with me are you?”

” I can deal with you and your… girlfriend here but I can’t cooperate with being held hostage in my own house,” Derrick said as he started to arrange his hair back in a ponytail.

” Whatever man,” Blaine said as he sat down on the couch.

” Wow, she’s not gonna sit down? I know my house isn’t a mansion but if you sit on the couch it feels like a soft cushion I promise” Derrick said calmly to Mavis who just remained standing.

” What’s wrong Mavis?” Blaine asked, getting up and standing in front of her.

” I can’t just sit and act like this is just any other day Blaine. My brother is still in the hospital along with my little sister and my friends…” She was saying but stopped when Blaine just brought out a phone from his pocket and started to type something on his phone. Then he showed it to her.

She saw that on their way as they walked to Derrick’s house, he had contacted a friend by the name of Paulo to bring Mavis’s siblings and friends to an airport. She also saw in the message that both of them will be going to the airport in a few hours to join them.

She understood that he was showing her this because he didn’t want to say it out loud for Derrick to hear so she took his phone and typed, ” where’s this plane headed?”

” Columbia” he mouthed and she stared at him, her eyes widening in shock.

” It’s the only place where we will be safe. My father knows what he’s doing. He’s disclosed my location to his enemies as well, knowing that if I don’t leave London because of him, I’ll leave because of his enemies. Look, I can explain better when we get to Columbia. I know this is a lot for you to take in but.. ” he stopped whispering in her ears when he heard Derrick laughing because of a show on his TV.

” … but it’s the only way I can protect you. I have authority there.” He continued and Mavis started to cry.

” Shhh…. it’s okay. Don’t cry, please. I’m sorry” Blaine said, trying to console her but he stopped when he noticed that Derrick was placing a call to order some pizza.

He dashed to where Derrick was seated and grabbed the phone from him before he ended the call.

” I’m starting to get really pissed dude!” Derrick said sounding so emo that Mavis wondered how he and Blaine were even friends because they were polar opposites.

” If you want to order food then do so just don’t say you’re ordering for three people. You don’t understand the kind of people who are after me and besides what if one of them disguises as the delivery guy huh? Do you know how to fight with a gun or hands?” Blaine asked while Derrick sighed heavily.

” Just bear with us okay? We’re going to be out of here soon so just be patient”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

” When are you going to be out of my house? I can’t stand you and I feel so caged with you. It was so much better when I was just talking to you at the bar with the others” Derrick said and then continued watching TV.

Blaine didn’t respond. He just held Mavis by the hand and sat down on the couch before he tapped on his thighs for her to sit.

Mavis just stood there, contemplating whether or not she should give in to Blaine’s offer. She didn’t want to seem weak but her morning sickness was taking a toll on her. If she’s going to be on a plane for the next eight or more hours then she needs to rest.

She eventually sat on his thighs and rest her head on his shoulder while he wrapped his hands around her as she closed her eyes to sleep. Mavis was worried about her siblings and her friends but a part of her was still feeling flustered to be this close to Blaine.

Blaine didn’t want to be distracted from the plan he was cooking up in his head but he couldn’t help it, not when he could feel Mavis’s body so close to his. He wanted to give her a small kiss on her face because of how beautiful she looked as she slept but his phone buzzed. He reached into his pocket carefully so that he would not wake her up.

He held his breath the second he read the message that Paulo his friend sent him. He had bad news. News so bad that if Mavis sees it she may not go with him to Columbia anymore.

Blaine sighed as he read the message again. ” One of the females got shot as I tried to rescue them, she didn’t make it, she died. The wounded boy is losing his mind and he doesn’t want to cooperate. Should I use force?” He read.

” Yes,” he typed.

” Bring them to the airport with immediate effect. I’ll be there soon. Thank you my friend” he added later on.

” Who’s the girl? What’s her name?” He typed again. He just wanted to know. He didn’t really know any of the girls or their names. The only one he knew was Lisa and he knew she was Mavis’s sister. He hoped that it wouldn’t be Lisa and as he watched the typing dots on his phone, he silently hoped it would not be Lisa.

” She’s a friend of Mavis’s” Paulo typed Blaine heaved a sigh of relief before he read Paulo’s next message, “Her name is Darla.”
