Chapter 25
Cynthia POV
"Does this look good?" I ask Adelie for the tenth time, as I show her the red silver gown I just picked from the hanger. We are presently in the most beautiful mall in the town.
"You've asked that like a million times already. Don't you get tired?" She whines frustratingly as she raises her gaze to look at me. She has been sitting on the bench and pressing her phone since we came here. For goodness sake, I brought her to help me choose a dress for the date, and not to press her phone. I'm so pissed right now.
"Can you just drop your phone and let's do this fast?" I snap at her, and she finally stands up sluggishly as she rolls her eyes at me.
We pick a few clothes and finally head to the cashier, where we make the payment before we finally leave the mall.
"I'm just going to drop you off at home, and head home after," She says to me as we both hop in her car, and I smile at her. She's going to be my sister-in-law soon, and I can't be any less happy.
"Thank you, sister-in-law," I tease her, although I'm dead serious deep inside me. Her reaction got me questioning myself. The way she acts whenever I talk about her brother, makes me think that there's something she's not telling me, or maybe he has a girlfriend and she's not telling me about it.
"Are you really doing this, Cynthia?" As expected, she pulls over at the side of the road, tilting her head to look at me. She looks like she's hiding something from me, but I can't just picture what it is. If only I could read minds, maybe it wouldn't be so difficult. Fuck! How can I even have that thought? I think I have to stop watching too many dramas.
"Yes..."
"You are going to say yes if he asks you to be his girlfriend?" She cuts me off with her eyes narrowed, and I nod my head blankly.
"You... Cynthia... Don't you think you're rushing things? I understand that you're deeply in love with him, but don't you think you should take things rather slow? Like, get to know him first before you get committed to him," She tries to convince me, but I find it hard to believe.
"Why do you not want me to date your brother? Is there something you're not telling me? Because I don't understand why you're always trying to convince me not to be fast about things. Does she have a girlfriend you're trying to hide from me, or do you just not like me to be with your brother?" I ask her, a bit pissed.
"No, not at all... It's not like that, okay? Asher doesn't have a girlfriend, and how can you say that I don't want you with him? Cynthia, I want what will make you happy, and if he's the one that will, I have no problem with that... I just want you to..."
"It's fine, Adelie. I understand your care for me, but I'm sure about this. If he makes the move, I will gladly accept him. I have always wanted this, so just let me handle this," I assure her, and she slowly nods her head.
She finally drives me home, and by the time I arrive at my apartment, it's already past 7pm.
"Good night, sweetie. We'll see at the office tomorrow," I say to her before she drives away.
Taking a deep breath, I head to my room, and as soon as I walk inside, I dash into the bathroom and have a quick bath.

Stepping out of the bathroom a few minutes later, I set to get dressed, and just when I round everything up, my phone suddenly starts ringing. It's Asher on the phone.
"Hey, baby girl," His sweet and sexy voice sounds through the phone as soon as I slide the answer button, and my heart misses a beat. I can't help but imagine how sweet life would be with him by my side with each day that passes by, as he would sing to me with that deep and sexy voice when I carry his child.
"Snap out of it, Cynthia. He hasn't asked you out yet," I scold myself mentally, and gulp down nothing.
"Hey," I manage to reply to him since my hammering heart won't let me speak louder.
"I'm almost at your gate," He utters, and I smile widely. How will going out on a date with the most handsome man in the city feels like? Well, now I know. My stomach is filled with butterflies, and I feel like I'm going to explode anytime soon. "Alright, I'll be waiting for you," I reply to him shyly, covering my face with my hand as if he's here. I'm blushing so hard.
"See you in a few minutes, baby," He says before the call finally drops dead, and I throw myself on the bed. Fuck! I love the way he flirts with me.
I finally check myself out in the mirror to be sure that I'm ok, and I'm glad that I picked this silver-colored short gown earlier. It matches my hairstyle and the color of my skin.

"Perfect," I smile at my reflection before I pick up my phone from the table, and stride out of the room.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
I spot his car parked at the front of the gate and him leaning against it as soon as I step out, and a wide smile lace up my lips. As I advance closer to him, I find him extremely dashing in his outfit. He has black trouser on, and a black buttoned- down shirt that has the two up buttons opened, revealing his sexy chest that have me tripping for him over and over again. He's gonna make me drool at him all day.
His smile makes my heart waver in my chest, and the spark in his eyes makes me feel like there's no man else on earth except him. His hair is quite messy, yet looks so cute and sexy on him. His perfume smells so expensive. "My lady," He smiles at me widely once I get to where he's standing, showing me his set of perfect dentition. Everything about this man is so perfect.
"You look so cute," I can't just stop myself from telling him the truth, and although his reaction is weird, but I still love it. What every normal people would say when they get a compliment, is 'Thank you', but he only said, 'I get that a lot'. "Shall we?" He pulls the car door open for me, and I smile at him before I hop inside in the front seat that's just beside the driver's seat.
I watch as he walks over to the other side after he closes the door, and finally hops in. The journey to the sweet romantic date began, and my heart is so filled with joy. Is he going to propose to me later? Will he ask me to be his girlfriend? It'll be the happiest thing in my life to finally be his girlfriend. I'll be so happy. Those are the thoughts that linger on my mind as I stare at him drive down through the darkness, but I wouldn't know until we get there, right? Why don't I just remain patient till we get to our destination?
