Alpha’s Regret Pregnant Rejected Luna

Chapter 129

Chapter 129

Jasmine collected the phone, peering at the image, her brows furrowed in seriousness.

“Do you know her?” He urged gently, studying her features.

“Is this why you came to meet me?” She whispered, disappointment seeping into her voice and

standing up.

“No, it’s not. I was going to come anyway, by the end of the week,” he admitted.

“Was she there?” He asked her.

“I was one of the few ones they didn’t sell out; lots of girls came and left, but I was kinda stuck there.”

Her voice quivered lightly.

“There were so many girls, I don’t know.” Seeing his hopeful expression, Jasmine really wanted to help

him. She raked her head but couldn’t place where she found her.

“I’m sorry, Axel. I don’t remember everything. I don’t even remember the accident of how I ended up in

this city,” she said apologetically.

“My memory is in bits and pieces. And honestly, I’d rather forget it all.” She said calmly, standing up.

“It’s okay. You don’t have to push yourself anymore.” Axel sighed.

“I understand,” he muttered, pulling her into his arms. “It’s over now, okay?” He mumbled into her hair.

She nodded slightly.

“You’ve lost so much weight,” he said sadly.

They stayed that way for some time.

“Try to take care of yourself; you’re not alone, Jasmine,” he assured, pulling away from the hug.

“You’re leaving?” She asked him, her voice breaking slightly. She looked sad to watch him go.

“I need to; I’ll be back tomorrow,” he told her gently.

“Wait for me?” He questioned her.

She smiled, then nodded her head. “I’ll be right here when you get back,” then she

smiled at him. He planted a small k*ss on her forehead and moved to step out of the door. Her eyes

were fixed on him as he left. He had a nagging feeling to stay, to spend the night there with her. She

looked so small and lonely standing there in her small living room.

“When I come tomorrow, how about I cook you a nice dinner?” He offered. Her face lit up immediately.

“Yes, yes!” She nodded eagerly.

“I’ll see you soon. Don’t go anywhere. I’ll be here tomorrow,” he told her, then mustered a small smile.

He didn’t want to leave, but he had to.

Turning, he left finally.

Stepping into his car at the down floor of the apartment, it seemed like someone was lurking in the

dark.

He pushed the unsettling feeling to the back of his mind, entered his car, and drove off. Jasmine sat

quietly for a while. She had felt hopeless, but now, she had Axel. Her life wouldn’t be as bleak

anymore. His comforting words lingered in her mind, giving her a newfound motivation.

“First, a bath,” she muttered, then walked off. Staring at the flames on the TV screen, a sudden wave of

déjà vu hit her. Gripping her head, she cried out; it felt like her head was about to split open. She lay

there crumpled on the floor for some minutes.

“She was there! Axel’s in danger.”

Everything came rushing back to her. She ran out immediately, barefooted, images clear and running

through her head. The other woman, Nathan’s wife, Amelia Fox. She saw her. Stumbling, she nearly

fell. She was completely irrational and sc attered.

“That woman is dangerous,” she cried as she got downstairs. “Axel! Axel!” she called, running. A figure

moved slightly, responding to her call.

“Thank Goodness you haven’t left yet.” She was bawling her eyes out. “That woman, Bella, she was

there. She killed those people, Nathan’s Amelia as well. Amelia died because of me; Amelia was trying

to help me.” She was crying completely now.

“Axel?” she whispered. A man stepped out in front of her. She instinctively stepped back.

“You’re not Axel,” she whispered, taking another step backward, her teary eyes shining.

“I’m sorry, doll. I can’t have you spilling all that you just remembered. It’s too sad, really. It would have

been best if you didn’t remember anything,” the man said. She turned to run but was held in place. The

man grabbed her, holding a handkerchief over her face.

“Wow, this would have actually caused a whole lot of trouble. I was actually going to give up on you

today.” She struggled for a while, then gradually went numb, slumping weakly in his arms.

Bella snapped into the phone, her mood sour after the confrontation with Ethan.

“I don’t have any money to give to you,” she retorted sharply.

“Your husband’s assistant just left here,” he said, tossing the girl to the back of the car.

“Axel? He just left who?” Bella asked anxiously.

“The girl who knows everything about you, of course,” he replied lightly. “Your carefully crafted empire

could come crumbling down with one word from her mouth,” he added smugly.

“How did you know?” Bella whispered.

Gabriel chuckled lightly. After the incident and overhearing Bella that day, he had become curious and

started watching Jasmine. Now his efforts had paid off, and the girl truly had some serious dirt on Bella.

Bella’s voice suddenly became calmer. “You have her?” she whispered.

“Yep,” he replied lightly.

“Help me get rid of her,” she said through gritted teeth.

“Why should I? What do I stand to gain?” he asked smugly.

“Listen!” she snapped. “If I get caught, we all get caught,” she threatened. “You’ve got nothing on me.

I’ll do you this favor anyway. And I’ll do it in a demure and quiet way as well. Just send me fifty million,

then I’m out of your hair,” he told her calmly.

She nearly vomited blood. “That’s too much; I can’t move that much money! Ethan checks my

transactions,” she explained. Ethan had become suspicious lately and was scrutinizing everything

about her.

“I used my company’s exhibition, but it would rouse his suspicion if such a huge amount leaves

suddenly!”

“Let’s talk, Gabriel,” she said anxiously.

Sebastian was practically useless. He had let the girl slip through her fingers, and she was currently

caught by Gabriel! Of all people.

“Fine,” she muttered in desperation.

She needed to make sure that girl never returned.

It was all too much, she liked her life now, anything that would try to disrupt it would have to go. Hazel’s

brats and this other girl.

Done with striking a deal with Gabriel, she contacted Sebastian, “Have it done today.”

“Did you find anything?” Ethan asked Anna the next morning, having given her instructions to comb

through Bella’s study and keep an eye out for any suspicious parcels.

“No, sir,” she replied.

He sighed. “Okay, just keep searching.” She nodded and turned to leave. So far, he hadn’t been able to

uncover any facts about his wife. Even bugging her phone had proven useless.

“I heard you mention checking Ma’am Bella’s calls,” Anna muttered.

“Yes,” he probed.

“There was a time I went to her study to call her for dinner; she was in the bathroom. Her phone was

right there on the table, but it seemed she was making calls inside the bathroom.”

That’s it. She had a different phone. That was why, even though he had bugged her phone for months,

he couldn’t actually find out anything! He only nodded calmly; that explained it.

“What exactly do you mean?!” Bella thundered into her phone from the confines of her soundproof

office. She had been patiently awaiting good news, but her brother’s incompetence had become

apparent.

“You’re thoroughly useless! First, you let that girl slip through your fingers; Gabriel found her right on

time, else I’d have been ruined. And now you can’t even dispose of a sick little brat?!” She continued

her tirade.

“Listen!” He yelled into the phone. “It’s not as easy anymore. There’s a lot of security

here at the hospital. What we tried to do is practically impossible; someone changed her drugs the

other time,” he informed her.

“What are you talking about?”

“A few days ago, the girl’s medication was swapped to something she had a reaction to.”

“Who could have done that? Didn’t she die?” She asked angrily.

“No, it wasn’t potent enough to kill her. Now the hospital is full of people, and all the drugs and

medications she’s given are constantly checked. Swapping it to something deadly won’t be possible,”

he explained.

“Why would someone be dumb enough to miss a first chance slip through their fingers like that?” Bella

paced around the room.

First, someone had saved Liam from danger. Then another person had swapped the girl’s drugs. The

person clearly had no plan to harm her; they only succeeded in raising everyone’s consciousness,

signaling that the girl was in danger.

“Derrick!” She bit her lips in frustration. “It has to be him. Why would he ruin my plan in that manner?!”

She fumed.

“What were you thinking?!” She yelled into the phone the instant she dialed for him. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

“That was you, right? The guy who grabbed Liam out of the road and signaled Ethan. Why would you

do something like that?! We were one step closer to achieving our goal!” She yelled angrily.

“Now you’ve made everything even more difficult.”

“I’ll come up with something else you just…”

“Enough Bella.” The voice said with an exhausted sigh.

“We agreed to dispose…” She started saying.

“I can’t do it,” he said suddenly, shocking her.
