Chapter 90
Chapter 90
“I’ll head outside to take the call,” Gisele stated, grabbing her phone and preparing to leave.
However, as she took a step, Dorlan’s cold volce Interrupted, “Answer it right here. I want to see what kind of nonsense you’ll spout in front of Grandpa,”
Gisele hesitated for a moment before glancing at Dorlan, sighing Inwardly. What could she possibly say in front of Declan?
Taking a deep breath, Gisele eventually answered the call. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Declan’s face appeared on the screen, sporting a playful smile as he remarked, “Gisele, what took you so long? Shouldn’t you be having dinner by now?”
“Grandpa Declan, I’m already at the restaurant,” Gisele remarked with a smile, her expression reflecting concern. “You seem much healthier lately. How’s your mood been these days, Grandpa Declan?”
As Declan pondered the information from the investigator’s report the previous night, het couldn’t conceal his delight.
While alcohol might impact sperm quality, moderate drinking could also strengthen the bond between married couples, which is a positive outcome.
Gisele was puzzled by Declan’s cheerful demeanor. Was there something positive happening that she wasn’t aware of? Despite her efforts, Gisele couldn’t recall any notable event worth celebrating.
“Oh, Gisele, I heard from Uncle William that he saw you and Don shopping and dining together. Where is Don? How come I don’t see him?” Declan inquired, his smile still bright. Gisele quickly glanced at Dorian, who sat opposite her with Sierra by his side. If Gisele were to flip her phone’s camera, Declan might catch a glimpse of Sierra.
Contemplating Declan’s cheerful inquiry, Gisele started to wonder if this supposed Uncle William had only seen her with Dorian and hadn’t noticed Sierra, who was busy trying on
clothes.
“Gisele, where’s Don? Can’t you two sit together?” Declan urged with a smile.
Gisele let out an awkward chuckle. “Ha, ha–ha… Grandpa Declan, Don went to the restroom. He’ll be back soon.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for him to return. You two should sit together and video–call me. This is your first time dining out together, isn’t it? It appears that mischievous Don is upping his
game,” Declan muttered to himself.
Gisele kept a smile plastered on her face, yet internally, she grappled with a sense of helplessness.
If Declan had known about Sierra, he likely wouldn’t have spoken that way, would he?
“Get over here,” Dorian said coldly, fixing his gaze on Gisel
Sierra looked at Dorian in disbelief. Was he seriously asking to be in the same video frame as
Gisele?
“Don, I’ll excuse myself to the restroom for a moment,” Sierra said, quickly composing
herself.
Rising to her feet, she deliberately walked over to Gisele, making sure Declan on the video call could see that she was also present.
Her intention was clear–to reveal to Declan that what he longed to see was nothing more
than an illusion.
Gisele couldn’t shake off the concern that Declan might notice Sierra.
She promptly stood up and took a seat beside Dorian, creating the illusion of them being closely situated in the video call. However, in reality, there was still some physical distance
between them.
“Grandpa Declan, Don is back “Gisele informed him, avoiding any i
of Sierra
If Declan brought up Sierra, it would be Dorian’s responsibility to address it. After all, she was the one he favored, so it seemed appropriate to let Dorian handle the situation.
Dorian briefly glanced at the screen before averting his
gaze.
As Sierra left, her strong perfume scent gradually faded away, replaced by Gisele’s citrusy aroma with a hint of herbal notes. This change infused the air with a refreshing and revitalizing sensation.
“Seeing the two of you so in love, I could peacefully depart this world,” Declan said cheerfully.
Despite catching sight of Sierra passing by on the screen earlier, it didn’t dampen Declan’s joy upon witnessing Dorian and Gisele enjoying dinner together.
With a sweet smile, Gisele replied, “Grandpa Declan, please don’t say that. You’ve got plenty
years ahead of
and down the road, you’ll have the chance to look after your great- grandkids.”
