Fall For Me

Chapter 50

GWEN POV’s

These two had better stop making a pity party out of the whole scenario. What’s better than marrying a rich man and living a luxurious life? “aaaargh, they make me sick” I murmured under my breath.

“Wow! I really love this view” I commented as I stepped into the dining, my eyes flickered around the entire space. God, I’d kill to have this all to myself-not literally, I couldn’t kill a fly even if I want to.

“How does Carson treat you?” Carmen asked. Is that an important question, he said he loves her of course he wouldn’t hurt her she just has to play her part by satisfying him. Anyway, they already see me as the black sheep of the family.

“He’s not bad, he’s domineering and locking me up here is really suffocating but asides that he tries to be nice to me” Valerie replied. There’s nothing suffocating about having all you want without lifting a pin, can you all be logical for once. I was burning inside, it took all the self control in me to withhold all the things I wanted to say.

“What of your phone?” Carmen asked

“He took it from me, he didn’t want me doing anything stupid like dragging him online or calling for help” Valerie

“I’m so sorry love, I wish I could help. I wish I had to go through this instead of you, you still have you life ahead of you, your career, your love… Should I plead with him to let you go” Carmen consoled. “Yeah, yeah, please do. so I can console my way into his life, into his wealth and affluence”

“No, he wouldn’t accept that, he’s obsessed with me. He might get angry and never allow you come over again” Valerie nodded in disagreement.

“Can I sleep over?” I broke into the discussion. They turned to me immediately with shocked faces. “What? why are you all starring at me like that?”

“Why?” Carmen asked, Valerie was speechless.

“Why what”

“Why would you want to sleepover at Valerie’s place?”

“I just want to keep her company. It is suffocating staying here alone…”This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

“Like you care” Carmen retorted. Okay, that was harsh.

“I’d pretend you didn’t mean that” I replied angrily. I walked towards Valerie and held her hands.

“I’d love to keep you company, let’s see a movie together, gist about life, give you a breakdown of things happening outside” I persuaded in a sincere tone

“I’d love this but Carson would not agree. He loves his space”

“Oh please, he loves his space yet he brought you to stay with him. Girl, he loves you. You just have to maximize that” I convinced

“Gwen, don’t push it. You aren’t sleeping over and that’s final!” Carnen yelled

“Let Valerie decide”

“I’d love to have you guys sleep over but maybe not today. I have to give Carson some time before asking him for permission.” Valerie replied.

I didn’t want to push it too far so I nodded quietly. We sat down and are. Carmen and Valerie were laughing hard at intervals, I was too angry and pissed to join in the conversation.

“Valerie, do you miss Andrew?” I broke the good conversation once again.

“Gwen!” Carmen called out sternly

“I do, I think about how we were starting off on the right foot, then this!”

“I could call him now so you guys can have a conversation.” I suggested

“I don’t think Carson would like that. I really don’t want him to be mad at me”. Valerie replied. I was getting annoying already, she couldn’t make any sentence without Carson’s name in it.

“Carson this, Carson that. Valerie com’on, Carson is not even around. No one will know you spoke to Andrew”

“But what’s the point of speaking to him when I know I’m never getting out of here”

“You can’t say that for sure. Andrew has been worried sick about you. He misses you a lot, he’d be so happy to hear your voice, trust me!”

“Okay, let’s go upstairs to my room. It’s going to be a quick call. I can’t risk anyone finding out I spoke to Andrew.”

I nodded happily and followed Valerie upstairs, Carmen remained at the dinning to help us keep watch.

The ambiance of this house was breathtaking, so we entered Valerie’s room. She had a big bed with pillows and teddy bears, the walls were painted blue with gold trimmings. A small simple golden chandelier casted a glow over the room. Her windows opened up to the beautiful view of the garden.

“God, how can anyone not love this?” I thought to myself. I brought out my phone and dialed Andrew’s number, he picked up almost immediately.

“Hey, Andrew!”

“Hi, Gwen. How are you doing?”

“I’m good. I’ve got a surprise for you”

“O-kay-y, what’s that?”. Andrew asked curiously. I handed the phone to Valerie quickly.

“Hi, Andrew” Valerie greeted, she was so tense, I could hear her best from where I was standing.

“Val? Valerie?” Andrew called out in shock.

“Yeah, you recognized my voice”

“I could never forget your sweet voice” Andrew replied in excitement

“That’s so sweet,” Valerie blushed. She was grinning from ear to ear.

“I’ve been trying to reach you for ages.”

“I know right? I’m so sorry…”

“Hey, it’s fine. Your sisters told me what happened. I wish I could help, I’m so glad I could hear your voice”

“I’ve missed you so much” Valerie uttered

“I wish I could come visit you or something”

“I don’t know Andrew, that’s not possible”

“let’s talk more often over the phone”

“I don’t have a phone,” Valerie replied.

They had a long conversation, Valerie was smiling and laughing hard in between conversations like she wasn’t the one that was insisting on making the call short earlier. As I made to walk out of the room, I went head-on with Carson.

“Valerie!”

“Carson?” I echoed.
