Chapter 37 Feeling Her Pain
The knocking sound on the car window started again, and Kallum rolled down the car window in irritation. The person outside had not expected the car owner to be so young and good looking, and thought it was little wonder he had such luck... Even though the glass was tinted and nobody could see into the car, but since the car wasn't moving and kept shaking. It was obvious what was happening.
"What is it?"
Kallum spat all three words murderously, causing the man outside to lose some ground, and he started stuttering, "You... You're taking up the whole road!"
If it were someplace else it wouldn't have been so bad, but Kallum's car was parked right on the zebra crossing. Even though it was late at night, there were still traffic cameras that might catch his car - otherwise he wouldn't have interrupted others having a good time! Kallum's face immediately darkened.
He even began to feel frustrated at himself - if he had just waited a few more seconds and stopped by the roadside, nobody would have interrupted him...
Wait a minute! Interrupt? He was definitely not aroused by this woman!
Kallum started driving at a high speed, feeling very upset with himself.
This time Calista was very quiet, and didn't say a word as she watched him drive towards Havenrock Villa.
But she was also feeling very confused inside. She couldn't forgive herself for suddenly giving in to her emotions earlier too. If her body had not suddenly felt limp, she should have been able to push Kallum off. If her fingers weren't so weak that she couldn't hold onto a needle, Kallum wouldn't have had his way with her either.
Kallum was also silent - this wasn't the first time he had such a strong desire for Calista. Perhaps he really should go look for a woman.
After alighting, Calista didn't say anything and headed straight for the guest room. The butler looked at her strangely, but when he looked back at Kallum, he let out a small gasp.
"Mr. Kallum, are you hurt?"
Kallum looked down at himself and saw that his jacket had some blood stains. After getting slashed by Jarrett, Calista had used a needle to stop the bleeding and had bandaged the wound very simply, but the kiss earlier was so intense, so the wound started bleeding again, but it was not visible through her black clothing.
It suddenly dawned on Kallum - Calista was hurt?
Kallum told the butler to quickly call Shaun over, and then suddenly remembered that actually Calista could treat herself, so he grabbed the first aid kit and went to the guest room. When he reached the room door, he suddenly stopped himself. What was wrong with him? Why was he so anxious?
When he thought about how he had gone all out to rescue her and she turned around to scold him for being a busybody, he felt very misunderstood.
This woman was biased against him and didn't appreciate what he did at all! She was hurt but pretended to be fine the whole journey, obviously not wanting to worry him. Oh please, he couldn't be bothered about whether she was dead or alive! With this thought, Kallum turned to walk away, but his feet refused to move, as if he was tied to the ground!
He cursed himself and knocked on the door anyway, but nobody answered.
Kallum was afraid that something had happened to Calista, so he opened the door and walked in to find that there were several pieces of clothing on the floor. Black top, black pants and a bloodied bra, all the way to the bathroom. Kallum froze. Calista was bathing?
He couldn't help but think of how Calista had wanted to prove her innocence a few nights back and stripped in front of him...
Actually he didn't mean to be so fierce that day, but when he saw the dubious looking scratch marks all over her, he couldn't control himself and wanted to flare up!
He wanted to protect her, but his anger made him want to humiliate her!
Just as he was still in a daze, the bathroom door opened. Calista froze when she saw Kallum.
She was holding large towel and wiping her hair dry, her long black hair wet and plastered on her well defined body, emphasizing the scary long red slit on her chest. When those sparkling eyes looked at him in confusion, that wound didn't count for anything - she was like a perfect Venus de Milo, every line on her body exuding beauty. Their eyes met and Kallum violently turned himself around, but Calista did not scream.
She calmly wrapped the towel around herself and pushed her hair to the back, revealing the wound on her chest completely.
Kallum was still waiting for her to
get angry or shout in surprise, but there was no sound or movement behind him, so he turned around only to find Calista sitting at the dresser, facing the mirror and checking her wound.
The wound was quite deep and very painful, but Calista liked this sort of pain.
She kept feeling like everything was very surreal, as if this new life was not real but just a dream. That this could be a result of her just going e mad from being locked up at the research facility, and her

subconscious had locked itself and
created an alternate universe.
That was why she was so bold and outrageous from the time she was reborn. She had thrown away all reservations, doing anything she wanted, and had become like a different person. Only pain made her feel real again.
She smiled lightly and tilted her head to look at Kallum. "Since you've brought it here, aren't you going to give it to me?"
Kallum looked at her wound and in a serious voice, "The family doctor is on his way here."
"I can do it myself, give it to me."
Kallum frowned.
He hated it when she became cold and rational. Even when she was being prickly and argumentative - that was better than this pool of still water.
But since she was hurt, Kallum hid his unhappiness and passed her the first aid kit, and then sent a text to the butler to tell Shaun not to come. After all Calista was a more highly skilled doctor than Shaun.
The first aid kit had everything she needed, including needles and thread for sewing cuts.
The wound had stopped bleeding after she had performed acupuncture on herself, but it was still red and gaping, and looked terrifying.
Kallum could tell immediately that was a knife wound, a knife that had slashed her vertically.
He suddenly felt anger rising in his heart, and he clenched his teeth and asked, "Was this inflicted by Jarrett?"

wore a pair of gloves, and
disinfected the wound very roughly causing some blood to land on the white skin of her chest, each drop as bright as red plum blossoms blooming in the snow.
Kallum grabbed her wrist and said, "Can't you be a bit gentler?!"
His voice was very fierce, as if he was the one she was being rough with.
He threatened, "If you don't do this more carefully, I'll get Dr. Yancey to sew you up!"
Calista looked at him weirdly, as if she was trying to say it was none of his business whether she was gentle on herself or not, since he wasn't the one feeling the pain anyway.
But because Kallum was watching her like a hawk, Calista slowed down her actions and looked gentler, and Kallum was appeased.
But when he saw her pick up the needle and prepare to sew, even though Kallum wasn't a doctor, he knew this wasn't the right procedure!
"Are you going to apply any anesthesia?"
Calista weakly replied, "There isn't any."
Anesthesia could be dangerous if not handled properly, and since the Fairchilds were humans like everyone else, it was illegal to keep anesthesia and similar substances in a first aid kit.
"I'll get some!" Kallum stood up, but added on one more thing just in case, "Don't do anything, just wait here!"
After she saw Kallum leave the room in a hurry, Calista smirked and continued sewing herself up.
The girl in the mirror generally remained expressionless, but when it was really painful, she would frown, but her lips were upturned. Pain meant that she was alive. The more pain she felt, the more alive she was.
