Done giving them face(2)
“Shut up, Jane Lau! How dare you steal the Patriach’s token? Give it back to me or else I’ll let these men deal with you!” shouted Lynet.
Jenica hid her smile behind her hand. “Oh really? I didn’t know I’ve stolen something from your family. Are you confused?”
Lynet gaze deepend and gestured to the staff. “Catch that woman and make her kneel,” she ordered.
Then the men made a move towards Jenica.
Jenica shook her head. She just returned to the mansion to collect her things and had no intention of staying another night. She’s done giving Bryce’s family the patience not to do anything to them for the sake of one of Code X’s members. But now, she won’t give them a chance to bully her again.
So she moved to meet the fists coming at her. Jenica easily knocked down the men one by one and when she was the only one left standing, she looked at Lynet with a smile. “Anyone else?” she asked.
Lynet’s fist was clenched and she rushed at her. Jenica raised her eyebrows then she smiled teasingly at the woman. “Don’t tell me you want to fight? Ah, I never knew the Mondragon spared an effort to teach you martial art,” she said and dodged Lynet’s incoming kick.
“Shut up!” Lynet screamed. The woman kicked and punched Jenica harder. But no matter what Lynet did, she couldn’t reach her. Lynet’s face went dark.
Jenica blew out air and with a wave of her hand, Lynet fell on the ground. She looked down on the woman sprawled on the floor with a little smile. “A mere woman like you can’t defeat me,” she told her truthfully and stepped towards the stairs.
The maids who saw what happened gave way to her in fear. Even some of the members of the Desmanas were silent and looked away.
After she got the equipment, she left the mansion without hesitation. She had already booked a hotel earlier so she went to the town center and contacted her assistant.
“Any recent news on Mondragon?” Jenica asked. The connection between the Mondragon and Jared was still unclear. She’s suspicious knowing that Jared has a hand in manufacturing those poisonous needles.
“There is one, Agent J. Our spies in the South reported that Bree Mondragon’s immediate family seems to frequently contact someone in the capital after the woman was put into jail. But our people can’t find a trace of Jared in the intercepted signal, rather the frequent calls have something to do with a child abduction from the capital to the South.”
Suddenly, Jenica’s heart beat fast when she heard it. “You said child abduction? Can you verify this information?”
“I’ll send you the picture of the child taken by them.”
Jenica took a deep breath before opening the newly arrived multimedia message in the inbox. Her knees went weak when she saw the picture. It was her child, Sham!
The boy was lying on the king sized bed and he was reading a book. Although her child seems clean and well-fed in the picture, she’s still not complacent.
“Where did they take this photo?” she asked and forced herself to calm down.
“Bree Mondragon’s immediate family sent that picture to that person in the capital. They confessed on the intercepted message that the child is under them and promised to transport the child to the capital if those people will help them free Bree Mondragon from prison.”
Jenica clenched her fist. How dare they discuss her son like he’s some sort of goods!
“Does Gray Mondragon know about this?”
“No. The family is secretly communicating with that person in the capital.”
“Good info.” Jenica’s eyes narrowed. “It seemed like I have to pay that woman a visit later.”
If her guess was correct, Bree Mondragon’s family kidnapped Samantha and Grey’s son. It just so happened that her son was transported from the capital to the South on the same day and it gave Sham the chance to push the child out of the vehicle the kidnappers confined them to.
And by chance, Jenica saw the child that her son, Sham, saved and brought that child back to the Mondragon residence — which foiled Bree Mondragon’s immediate family plans on the said child.
“Prepare me an evidence on Bree Mondragon’s plan to kidnap June Mondragon. Also, prepare the evidence on Yvette Antonete’s involvement in the Eldest Miss of Desmana’s assassination. I want them all tonight,” she ordered.
“Roger that.”
Jenica put down the phone and took a deep breath. She was still in shock after knowing that her child was in the hands of the Mondragon. It was upsetting to know that Sham is right in front of her yet she failed to realize it. She felt being cheated by Bree Mondragon and it was unforgivable!
She woke up early the next morning, and went out to visit Bree Mondragon in the prison. When the woman saw her, instead of anger and shame, Bree smiled as if she was expecting her to come.
Jenica frowned. “Miss Bree, I’ve received a message that you’ve committed a heinous crime in the capital.”
Bree raised an eyebrow at her words. “Well, I’m locked in this filthy place. What can a mere prisoner do?” she asked with a silly smile on her face.
“Your family kidnapped June Mondragon, the child heir of your clan, and planned to sell the child as a slave,” said Jenica. Surprised flash across Bree Mondragom’s face and Jenica’s smile widened but her eyes were as cold as ice. “They also kidnapped a child from the capital and the said child is under the care of your immediate family. What do you think will happen if I’ll expose your family plans to Grey Mondragon?”
Bree burst out laughing. “You’re funny. How can you accuse my family without evidence?”
“Don’t worry. I’ve secured more than enough evidence to send your immediate family into prison so all of you can celebrate the holiday inside the cold cell,” she said as she smiled widely at the woman.
Bree was stunned for a moment, then snarled at her. “I dare you lay a hand on them and I’ll haunt you to death!”
“Then I’ll wait. But if you tell me where that child from the capital is, I might consider sealing the news,” said Jenica.
Bree stared at her before she smiled mischievously. “You seem eager to find your missing child, Jenica Laurel.”
Jenica stared at Bree, hiding the surprise, suspicion, and anger in her eyes. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
