Madness: Part 2 – Chapter 90
I sit at my desk while Kashton sits across from me at his and Saint stands in the middle of the room talking to Adam when the door to our office opens. Sin enters like he owns the place.
“Hey, Sinny.” Kashton smiles up at him, and Sin snorts at his nickname. “Have you decided to come home?”
“I’m here on Lords orders,” Sin states, and the air in the room instantly changes from light to heavy.
I stand, and so does Kashton.
“What kind of orders?” Saint questions.
“I was given an assignment last night to deliver a Lord to Carnage,” he answers, his eyes on Saint’s. “I have an hour left.”
“Who?” Kashton demands, knowing this isn’t going to end well.
Sin looks from Saint to Adam, and I stiffen when he speaks. “You.”
“What the fuck, Easton?” Kashton barks, coming out from behind his desk. Adam places his hand out on Kash’s chest, stopping him from taking Sin to the floor.
“This is my fault,” I growl. Adam was in hiding, and I brought him out when the Spade brothers called him to help save me. “I’ll speak to the Lords.”
Sin raises his shirt and removes his holstered gun from his belt. He sets it on Kashton’s desk. “I’m willing to tell them you refused to go, and I put a bullet in your head instead.”
Adam ignores Sin’s proposition to kill him. This isn’t a game. If Sin has an assignment, it has to be completed. Meaning we either take our brother in as a prisoner or we watch Sin kill him right here, right now.
Adam looks at me. “You didn’t make me kill our fathers.”
“No, but I should have…”
“I did what needed to be done in order to protect my sister,” Adam snaps before looking at Sin. “And I’ll do it again.” Then he turns to face Saint. “I’m sorry after all I did, I still failed her. And you.”
Saint swallows nervously, and I hope this isn’t his goodbye for good. He’s told me he’ll die before he turns himself over to the Lords in any way. He left that life behind years ago, and he’ll never go back.
“Wait. Wait.” Kashton raises his hands. “Let’s think about this for a second. We’ve got an hour.”
“That’s not enough time.” Saint growls. “You should have come sooner,” he barks at Sin.
“It’s fine,” Adam assures him. “I’ll go downstairs.”
“We’re not putting you in a cell.” I shake my head.
“We will if it’ll buy us time,” Kash argues.
I run a hand through my hair and sigh.
“I’ll go downstairs for now, and we’ll figure it out. Sin…” He picks up the gun and hands it back to Sin and nods to the door. He and Sin exit the office.
“This is bullshit!” Saint slams his hands on the desk when the door closes, giving us a few seconds to discuss what the fuck we’re going to do with our brother.
“I say we keep him locked up. I mean, whatever makes the Lords happy.” Kashton throws his hands out to his side. “Otherwise, he’ll always be on the run.”
Saint sighs and nods. “I agree. Ashtyn…wants him around,” he says tightly, letting us know that he’s still very angry with Adam but wants Ashtyn to have some sort of relationship with her brother.
“We’ll figure something out,” I assure them.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
We make our way to the elevator, and right before the door closes, we hear a loud noise. “What the fuck was that?” Kash demands.
“Sounded like a fucking gun,” Saint growls, already hitting the button on the elevator to open the door before it can even come to a stop.
We all three rush out once it reaches the basement to see Sin on his knees, blood running from his busted nose, and Adam on the floor lying next to him.
Sin looks up at us, raising his empty hands as he speaks. “He took my gun.”
