Chapter 42
Silence surrounded them, and no one dared to question Elisa once more.
15 Pearls.
“Did I say it right, huh?” Elisa eyed each of them and smirked. “Well, I don’t want to waste time with you. If only I knew, i wouldn’t come here.”
Elisa turned and gestured to Charles to go, but Olivia still stopped her.
“Please don’t go yet,” Olivia begged.
As soon as she looked back at them, she raised an eyebrow. She asked, “What else did you miss to tell me?”
“We know it.” Jorge admitted. “Someone helps you behind everything. I’ve been in the hospital and saw your mother in the VIP ward. I’m confused. How did you get so much money if you can’t earn it? Where did you get all the money from?”

It was still confusing in Jorge’s mind.
“Don’t tell me you have done some illegal things?” Jorge added, scanning his eyes on her body. “Don’t tell
me…
“Shut up! I’m not that kind of woman!” She clarified and became aware of what went on in his mind. “Everything that happens to my life has nothing to do with you!”
“Tell me. How much you need, Jorge said, his face calmed down. “I’ll prepare a check before you leave.
Tell me the exact amount.
“What? Do you think we’re after the money?!” She asked and furiously stared at Jorge.
“Didn’t you? Beatrice needs funds, right? If doing all of this makes you gain funds, then I can give you,” added Jorge, as if he was referring to Elisa in exchange for not pursuing a case against Suelen. “I want this matter to be resolved today.”
“You’re making me laugh! Do you want to pay me?! You dream!” Elisa shouted, almost echoing around.
“You don’t understand!”
“It is you who didn’t!” Elisa made it clear and pointed all her forehead. “I am kidnapped and injured. Suelen is the mastermind behind everything, and the evidence has been out, but do you think we’re just doing all this for money?! No way!”
She continued, “Continue to believe she’s innocent. But I suggest you look for any evidence to support your claims. Better you don’t. You’ll only end up wasting your time.”
Elisa shook her head and wasted her time there for nothing. She just turned around and left with Charles.
Olivia was about to run outside and halt Elisa, but then Jorge stopped her.
“Don’t chase her and waste our time,” Jorge said furiously, sitting on the sofa. “We’ll find another way without needing her help.
“Dad… what are we gonna do now?” Olivia was confused and terrified at the same time. Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind. She added, “Why don’t you cooperate with Marie? Let her take care of all of this.”

Jorge heaved a sigh and didn’t dare to respond.
“What?! You want her to take all the blame?” Jorge asked.
“That’s the only way!” Olivia clarified.
“No!” Jorge shook his head.

“If it is, there must be a way. Mom has been imprisoned for how many days now,” Olivia added. “I am sure she’s scared inside. Please think of another way.”
Olivia heaved a sigh and left afterward. Still oblivious to what help she could do.
At that point, Jorge still had no idea. But he knew one thing…
I need to find out who the person behind Elisa and her mother is. Who could it be?
On the flip side, in the detention office, Suelen had been seated facing a glass window so she could talk with her lawyer, who was already seated staring at her.
“I am still here inside. It’s been days! Didn’t we plan to be out this time?!” Suelen asked, somewhat furious. “I don’t want to be detained. “I paid you a lot of money, right? Isn’t it enough?”
The lawyer heaved a sigh and explained. I am doing everything. This case is too strong with evidence. You
can’t come out.”
This is useless! I want to see Jorge and talk to him! Please find a way!” Suelen moved closer to the glass and pressured the lawyer.
“You can’t take visitors,” the lawyer explained, adding, “One more thing. Please don’t worry about him. I know he has done something one, of which was to let Marie take all the blame.”
“Please do it fast,” Suelen retorted, wanting to get out as soon as possible.
“The only thing you can do is wait. I’ll be back soon and update you,” the lawyer added, standing from his seat. “I should be going now.”
“Alright. Thanks for your time, but I want to hear good news when you return.” Suelen also stood.
With the woman police on the side, she was brought back to her cell. On her bed, she sat, feeling empty
and lost.
She didn’t know whether the case would be cleared and she could come out. She worried about her life Scared, she knew the time Elisa had obtained evidence of what she had been doing in the past, and she knew the consequences. She would be detained for years.
It was crystal clear what problem she had. At that time, Jorge’s company was in competition to win the project. Another company stood out and most likely got the project because it competed with requirements.
She had one last option. It was to date the project manager to secure the project.
“If this will be revealed, I am finished. I don’t know what will happen to me…” She mumbled. She could do nothing but regret everything.

On the other hand, Olivia had questioned the duty officer who didn’t allow her to visit her mother.
“I just want to talk with my mother! Why can’t you let me?!” Olivia roared out and wanted to insist on meeting her.
But then again, they didn’t give any consideration, even for her.
“That’s an order. Please understand this time. You can visit your mother someday after it has been cleared.” said the officer.
“Fine. I won’t insist anymore, Olivia replied and came out from the detention center where Suelen had been detained.
Olivia had no choice but to wait for the lawyer to come out. She would just ask the lawyer for any information she needed.
She stayed in her car and waited for the lawyer. Upon seeing the lawyer, she faced him.
“At last, you’re here. How’s my mother?” Olivia inquired, writing it on a note. “Please tell me she is fine.
As usual, she wants to come out too, admitted the lawyer. “No one wants to get detained.”
The lawyer then stared at her and added, “How about you and your father? Tell me, what have you done to help your mother?”
“We’ve persuaded her, but she doesn’t want to cooperate as usual,” Olivia heaved a sigh. “Any other way you
think of?”
“I didn’t anticipate this to be this hard,” the lawyer sighed. “Oh, yeah. Only one thing we can do. That is to
Marie to take the blame. I cannot guarantee she will be released instantly, but there’s hope she can.”
urge
“Let’s do it. Let’s make sure Marie would be blamed. We must cooperate with her…” Olivia still had no assurance of the court’s decision afterward. Still, she was hopeful it would lead to her mother’s freedom.
Olivia wanted to avenge.
If we can surpass all these trials, don’t blame us, Elisa, if we can do something for you….
