Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 36

A man who was already waiting at the entrance immediately approached the door and opened the back passenger door.

Scott, dressed in a tailored sult with his coat slung over his elbow, stepped out of the car. Olivia followed sult.

She glanced first at the hospital, then at Scott.

Scott checked his watch for a moment before heading into the hospital.

The man escorting Scott gave him a brief explanation of what happened. “Sasha was briefly awake an hour ago but did not appear to be oriented to her surroundings at all. She was only conscious for a few minutes before passing out again. She’s been asleep until now.”

“What did the doctors say?” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

“The doctors think she’s doing well as of now, but they’ll need to reconduct a more comprehensive check once she’s awake.”

“Good.”

The three of them entered an elevator which brought them straight to the neurosurgical department, where Sasha’s room was. At this moment, her bed was surrounded by a team of doctors and nurses

who leaped to their feet the moment Scott stepped into the room.

The man who escorted Scott introduced him to the medical team. “This is the patient’s family.”

The nurses and doctors all nodded in greeting at Scott and Olivia. Scott immediately turned to glance. at the girl lying on the bed. Her face was as pale as a ghost, and her head was wrapped with a thick layer of gauze. Gone was the mischievous girl Scott remembered who was now replaced by a sickly- looking girl in the bed.

Olivia furrowed her brows. “What happened to her?”

The doctors and nurses all excused themselves. Soon the only people left in the room were Sasha, Scott, and Olivia.

Scott stared silently at Sasha for a while before finally saying, “I’ll go speak to the doctors.”

Olivia nodded. She knew what Scott was worried about. “Alright. go ahead. I’ll keep her company.” “Thanks.” With that, Scott stepped out of the room.

The doctors and nurses waited for him outside the door, and they approached him the moment he emerged. Scott turned to one of the nurses and ordered, “Go inside and keep an eye on her. Call the doctors if anything happens.”

“Yes, sir.”

The man who escorted Scott into the hospital remained standing, awaiting Scott’s further orders. He was the regional manager of the Horizon City branch of Scott’s company, Percy Chance. He rushed to the hospital immediately after receiving Scott’s call and helped follow up on Sasha’s condition while Scott was on the way.

Scott turned to Percy. “Bring me to the doctor in charge of Sasha’s case.

“Yes, Mr. Lawson.”

With that, Percy led Scott to the office of the doctor who treated Sasha. Scott was in there for a while before finally emerging from the office again.

Percy waited patiently outside while Scott discussed Sasha’s condition with the doctor. When Scott reappeared, Percy was on the call with someone. He immediately hung up when he saw Scott coming out of the room and approached him. “Mr. Lawson, I’ve tracked down the person who saved Ms. Richards.”

Scott did not even pause in his footsteps. “Contact Jay and ask him to send the lawyers to follow up. “Yes, Mr. Lawson.” Percy picked up his phone and was about to dial Jay’s number when Scott asked, Where’s the person who saved Sasha?”

Percy hesitated for a moment, then replied, “I think she’s on the sixth floor.”

Fearing that he misremembered, he quickly added, “I’m not sure. I’ll check again.”

“Okay.”

Meanwhile, on the sixth floor, Charles popped out for a while to run some errands while Dean and Donna kept Naomi company.

Naomi turned to her parents and said, “Charles needs to get back to work tomorrow. When he returns later, you guys should ask him to get back to Horizon City. I don’t want him to miss out on work because of me.”

This was the reason she called her parents to come over in the first place–so that her parents could look after her instead, and Charles could go back to work

Donna nodded. “Yes, he just got that job not too long ago so it won’t be wise to take so many days off. Don’t worry, Naomi, we can take care of you.”

Dean, however, frowned at this. “I think he’s already called his boss and requested leave.”

Naomi swiveled around to gape at him. “Requested leave?”

Dean recalled hearing Charles mention taking the next few days off during their conversation in the hallway. Since Charles helped Naomi arrange for a transfer to another hospital with better treatment facilities, it was clear he would follow her.

Dean relayed his message to Naomi, who frowned when she heard this. She did not expect Charles to take leave from work to look after her.

“I don’t need Charles around when they transfer me; having you two around is already more than enough. I’ll talk to him once he’s back.”

Dean nodded. “That poor child feels so guilty about what happened to you.”

Donna shook her head. “We can’t even begin to thank him for saving your life, but he’s blaming himself for your injury. What are we supposed to do now?”

She was glancing knowingly at Naomi when she said this. Dean and Donna both could see how much Charles liked Naomi, but Naomi was oblivious to all this.

Naomi contemplated this for a moment. “It’s fine. I’ll talk to him later.”

Donna turned to stare at Dean, unsure of how to respond.

All of a sudden, someone knocked on the door.
