Serenity and Zachary York



After marrying Zachary, he prepared even more snacks for her, especially after she got pregnant. Zachary always worried that she and their baby were going hungry and would check if there were enough snacks in her car every day.

He grew increasingly attentive and considerate toward her, but at the same time, more naggy. Still, she enjoyed having the attention of a handsome man and felt a tingly warmth in her heart. Out of anyone she could have married, she married Zachary. She really had married the right person.

"Why don't we get two boxes to go? It'll take some time for us to reach Wildridge Manor from the city." The three of them were worried Serenity would get hungry on the way there.

After a moment of thought, she gave in and went with their suggestion, mainly to put them at ease. On their way out, the quartet bumped into Carrie in her guise as Mrs. Longbottom. With her were the two Longbottom family bodyguards, as always.

"Mrs. York." When Carrie spotted Serenity, she greeted her with a smile.

Serenity stopped, which made Audrey, Corey, and Derek stop too. Audrey and Corey appraised Carrie. Although they had never formally met her, they knew of the new figure who had joined Wiltspoon's upper crust and had seen a photo of her before.

"Mrs. Longbottom." Serenity smiled politely. "What a coincidence meeting you here."

Carrie smiled too. "That's right, what a coincidence."

She looked at Audrey and Corey before asking politely, "Are these two ladies Mrs. Stone and Mrs. Lewis?"

"This is my Aunt Audrey, and this is Mrs. Lewis," Serenity introduced.

Carrie greeted them graciously and elegantly. The two madams merely nodded silently in response, without even a smile. However, they did stare at her from time to time.

Although Carrje no longer felt afraid even standing before Zachary, she felt uneasy when she was stared at by two madams who dominated the business world when they were young. Even before the downfall of her family, her mother had always tried her best to please these two madams.

Her mother Paige was a very arrogant woman and had brought her up the same way, but every time they attended one of the upper-crust gatherings, her mother would remind her beforehand to maintain a ladylike image in front of distinguished madams like Mrs. Stone.

She had to appear graceful and

well-mannered. Even if she could not get on their good side, she could not offend them at all costs. Paige also told her to stay as far away as possible from Elisa Stone, citing that the Newmans could not afford to offend her. Even if they thought ill of her, they could not show it.

"Are you on your way out?" Carrie felt uneasy but pretended to be calm as she internally chanted to herself that she was Mrs. Longbottom right now, not Carrie Newman. She was Mrs, Longbottom and was wearing an exquisitely made hyper-realistic mask that would stop anyone from recognizing her.

Even that blind bitch Camryn had no way of proving she was Carrie. At the thought of this, Carrie relaxed a little.
