“Oh. Rachel can't make it because she's busy," Millie replied, and Jake looked disappointed.
It was so hard to meet up with Rachel, whose schedule was jam-packed.
"Has she signed with you?" Millie asked. "I haven't noticed any public announcement about it."
Jake nodded. “It's signed, but we haven't taken her official portraits. She said she was busy lately." "That's true. She has many more galas to attend tNôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Then, she added, "Rachel will get her manager to schedule a time to meet you as soon as possible."
"That's fine. I signed the contract with her at the last minute anyway. She also said that she'd arrange for the transition," Jake replied.
Right then, someone called for his attention. He nodded and dragged Sean with him.
He couldn't be sure that Sean wouldn't fall for the gorgeous Millie in her exquisite dress that evening, right after Sean had just touched down in Yerwic Besides, the two of them had met before.
When they walked away, Jake reminded Sean in a whisper, "She's Winston's ex-
wife. You can't fall for her." Sean stole a glance at his back. Somehow, Millie felt like a different woman from the one who saved his life.
She had been calm and stoic last night but had an enigmatic, tantalizing, and lonely existence tonight. He believed she needed someone by her side. "Like you said, she's Winston's ex-wife," Sean repeated Jake's remark.
Jake's jaw nearly dropped. "What the heck? What do you mean? You can't seriously be interested in Millie. Win will kill you." "Isn't he divorced? Does he still care about the suitors of his ex-wife?" Sean innocently questioned Jake, who gaped at him.
Sean was technically right, but it sounded so weird for one of his childhood friends to fall for the ex-wife of another.
"Just take it easy. I don't want to be sandwiched between the two of you when you fight." Jake elbowed Sean Sean let out a slow chuckle and glanced at Millie again
So, she was the ex-wife of his friend. Things were getting interesting.
A playful glint appeared in his eyes.
Upon seeing the look in Sean's eyes, Jake understood immediately that his previous warnings had fallen on deaf ears. Sean certainly didn't take his advice seriously. That dude" simply refused to listen! How insolent!
The guests filed into the cruise at 7:00 pm. However, Millie waited and was among the last ones to board as Marvin had been texting her incessantly. "Boss, the cruise party attendees are rich, and they can get really wild and crazy. Stay safe."
In another text, he cautioned her, "Be
wary when you take your drinks. They might be spiked. By the way, look out for Joanna Lowell. You can't be sure what that evil bitch is up to on the cruise."
He added, “Boss, on second thought, I've decided to get on a boat and tail you. At least I could
come to your rescue right away if something happens to you!"
Millie laughed at Marvin's deep concern for her safety. Regardless, she was grateful for his care. He and Rachel were the only ones outside of her family to hold genuine concern for her.
She quietly took a photo of her sleeve and sent it to him. She wrote, "I have a concealed weapon on me. Don't worry. I'll be safe."
