Chapter 42 Someone’s Trying to Poach the CEO
Germaine spotted Farrah walking in her direction just as she stepped out of the car outside the company. Her chest tightened as she closed the car door and waited for her to come closer before walking toward her.
“Farrah, what exactly is your relationship with Mr. Locke?” Germaine grabbed Farrah’s wrist to stop her in her tracks and asked bluntly.
She had been puzzled for days and needed an answer
Farrah turned to look at her. “You should ask him.‘
“I’m asking you right now.” Germaine tightened her grip. “What tricks are you playing?”
Farrah was speechless. She took out her phone with another hand. “How about I call him for you if you’re too shy to ask him yourself?”
Germaine quickly released her when she saw her pulling up Adrian’s number. “Are you two really… together?”
Farrah caught the disbelief in her eyes. “Like I said, you should ask him.” She didn’t answer her directly and turned to walk toward the hall.
Germaine’s heart slowly sank to the bottom of the pit as she looked at her retreating figure.
Would Farrah truly call Adrian if she didn’t let her go? Were they… in a relationship? Why hadn’t it been made public then?
Was she not his girlfriend but just someone being kept?
Germaine swallowed her sadness and strode toward the hall as well.
All she wanted was to be the one who could stay by Adrian’s side no matter in what capacity…
“Good morning, Mr. Locke.” On the 22nd floor, Germaine, dressed in work attire with documents in her hands, walked up to Adrian in high heels. “Mr. Lovelace’s schedule has been confirmed. He’ll arrive at the airport at three in the afternoon tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Adrian extended his hand to take the documents from her. He lifted his gaze and looked at the man who worked diligently in front of the desk nearby. “Corey, you’ll be in charge of picking him up.”
“No problem!” Corey was in a good mood today. His attire was noticeably more refined than usual.
He was going to have dinner with his crush today. There was a noticeable hint of a smile in his eyes. Please rest assured, Mr. Locke. I promise to get the joli done perfectly!”
Given Prestige Group’s power, how could they possibly let another company swoop in and take over something as simple as an airport pickup?
Adrian had noticed something different too. “Mr. Moore, you seem to be in unusually high spirits. Is there something you’d like to share with us?”
Germaine glanced over at him as well. “Are you wearing makeup? Your face looks unnaturally pale.”
“It’s sunscreen!” Corey emphasized with a gentle smile. “I’m a grown man. How could I possibly wear makeup? I’m not someone who would do such a girly thing.”
Besides, Farrah would never fall for a guy who wore makeup!
The thought of having dinner with Farrah made him wish that time could pass faster.

“Are you going on a date?” Germaine had a gut feeling. “Are you in a relationship?”
“Well, fingers crossed! Wish me luck!” Corey was indeed happy. “I’ll treat you all to a fancy meal with a month’s worth of pay if the day comes!”
Germaine smiled. “Looks like you might be the first one in the office to quit single life.” She
subconsciously glanced over at Adrian after speaking.
Adrian remained composed and started to work on his computer.
He never would have imagined the woman Corey had his heart set on was his wife!
The phone on Adrian’s desk rang shortly after Germaine and Corey left. He picked up the phone with his slender hand. “Hello?”
“Hello, sir,” the person on the other end of the phone reported respectfully. “We’ve confirmed that the owner of Fairytale Cottage is named Farrah. There’s another co–owner named Riley. Sweet Sun was invented by Farrah herself.”
“Okay. I got it.” Adrian hung up the phone and pursed his lips.
He had been 99% convinced of what Farrah had told him last night in the study room at Floral Spring Residences.
However, this was related to Mark’s preferences and a deal worth a billion dollars. He had to confirm the remaining 1%. He was rigorous when it came to doing business.
He was extremely prudent and even more experienced than many seasoned entrepreneurs. He truly was a genius in the business world.
Jack, with his head of blonde curls, walked past Farrah’s seat in the main office of the design department on the 11th floor with a cup of coffee in his hand. He tapped his fingers on her table. “Hey, Ms. Gray wants to see you in her office.”
