Chapter 2 Her Son was Actually a Genius
Chapter 2 Her Son was Actually a Genius
“Antony, this is the limited edition watch which Paddy wants. He hasn’t been very happy recently. I’ve searched at lot of places before I found it.” Passing Helen, Gao Wen stood in front of Antony. When she was talking, her brows were furrowing. It looked like she was really worried about Paddy.
Looking at her expression, Helen got more confused. This woman seemed to be good to Paddy. But she shouldn’t be annoying as a stepmother, right…
“You’re spoiling him…” Antony’s coldness was replaced by affection. He received the box from her hand. The gentleness on his face turned to Helen for a moment. His gaze shifted cold in a moment, and said, “Take it to him.”
He picked up the coat on the sofa and put in his arm casually. “Didn’t you say you’re going to see engagement gown?” He pulled Gao Wen and brushed past Helen.
The faint smell of tobacco made Helen frown. She didn’t like men who smoked.
Next to Antony, Gao Wen took a glance back at Helen. Her ‘ordinary’ made her didn’t make her take Helen serious. She smiled and nodded at Helen, gentle and friendly.
“Young master is awake. Come upstairs…” the servant leaned over upstairs and called for Helen.
It had been a while since Helen arrived at the Davis’ place, but Paddy was sleeping. Now that she heard what the servant said, she was a little anxious.
She lowered her head and bit her lower lip, concealing the ‘fog’ in her ears.
Her son… Her son who she had missed for five years… Her steps staggered involuntarily.
Although the child came so suddenly at the beginning, and even though she was desperately wanting to enroll university for him, she failed in the end. Although she should have started her life,
because of him, she was afraid that it would be colorless in the future.
But, in her ten months of pregnancy, his movements and his troubles were already engraved in her heart. So, no matter what the result was, she still missed him for the past few years. She was missing him like crazy. It was just that her mother had never mentioned it to her before. She had no clue and had been delaying.
“You go in!” As soon as Helen arrived at the door, the servant inside greeted her, looking relief.
Helen didn’t move and just stood by the door. Her gaze fell on him. He was wrapped by the blanket, just leaving his head. His slightly curly hair was a bit messy but cute.
After giving birth to him, she just had a quick look of him and then he was taken away. She had imagined about his looks for countless times…
However, she didn’t expect him to be so ‘delicate’. Yes. If it wasn’t for the various obvious male characteristics, he looked a lot like a girl. Very beautiful. To be precise, he resembled her so much.
This recognition made her sad and happy. Her mother didn’t lie to her. He was one hundred percent her child.
Her hands tightened, suppressing the urge to hug him.
“I’m Helen Brown. You’re Paddy Davis, right?” she greeted and her voice was shaking.
Paddy Davis didn’t reply to her question, but turned sideways and took something similar to a minicomputer from under the pillow. Then, his little hands typed in something so fast on top of it.
“Type in your name.” Paddy handed the minicomputer to Helen.
On the screen were all blue numbers and letters, which looked similar to programming…
Helen couldn’t help but swallowed. Wasn’t this kid only five years old?
She even thought he was watching cartoon?
Was this… a so-called procedure?
She didn’t know what the kid wanted to do, but she still used pinyin to enter her name characters.
About a minute later, Paddy put the computer aside. He kneeled on the bed, then folded his arms on his chest. He stared at Helen with a serious face. “Old lady, your date when you were 18 were all made-up.”
He said it very confidently, but Helen was petrified in an instant. Back then, it was said that her mother had paid a high price and helped her solve it, and she was afraid that there would be problems in the future. When she was interviewed for this job before, they didn’t even notice it. But this kid…
“Old lady, did you change your date to seduce my dad?” Paddy continued with his analyzing manner, but at this time, he was already proficient in putting on his shirt, jacket, and pants. Then he got off the bed, wearing his shoes while asking question.
The skillful self-care ability made Helen amazed too. But after she listened to what he said, she silently breathed out a sigh of relief. But ‘old lady’? She frowned.
“Paddy, you can’t be rude.” Mrs. Liu was holding a tray and standing at the door, watching the interaction between the two. A flash of helplessness crossed her eyes. She put the tray on a small round table at the side. There were several big and small bowls.
“Mrs. Liu.” Helen stood up straight in an instant and politely nodded to Mrs. Liu. She had met her outside.
Mrs. Liu smiled politely at her, then helped Paddy fix his collar before she said, “Paddy has an IQ of 190. When he was two, he can read and write in three languages. This year, he has finished his college courses… Recently, he’s researching a procedure or something. I don’t understand. So, Miss Brown, he has surprised you.”
Mrs. Liu narrated it lightly, but Helen was completely dumbfounded.
Oh, my God. She and Antony Davis made a baby with that way and apparently she had given birth to a genius. This… was too unexpected.
“Do you think your remarkable dad will be attracted to a woman like me? That data is modified to land me a good job!” Helen uttered as she tried to calm the excitement in her heart.
Paddy looked up at her after hearing this. He looked up and down at her. She was right. The previous twenty something people were all prettier and more fashionable than this woman.
After he thought about it, he put the bowl back on the table.
“Women are good at disguising!”
Mrs. Liu, who was folding the blanket at the side, pursed her lips and chuckled when she heard that. She shook her head and pulled up the blanket with all her strength, then her legs became weak and fell on top of the bed.
“Grandma, are you okay?” Paddy immediately rushed over and was next to Mrs. Liu. He was holding onto her arm nervously.
Seeing this, Hellen hurried forward and helped supporting Mrs. Liu. “Mrs. Liu, are you okay?” She saw that Mrs. Liu’s face had turned white. Small beads of sweat was on her forehead. Helen frowned, this looked…
“I’m fine, I’m fine. I’m old and useless.” Mrs. Liu supported herself against the bed and stood up again. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Grandma, you’re not old!” Paddy didn’t let go of Mrs. Liu’s hand. His face was obviously full of stubbornness and sadness.
According to what she learned from other servants just a few hours ago, this Mrs. Liu was Paddy’s nanny since he was little. After Paddy was born, she took care of him. Although she was a servant, but everyone in the Davis’ residence respected her. So, unlike others, Paddy called her grandma.
It was just that she had grown old and couldn’t take care of him anymore. This was why the Davis was looking for a new nanny for Paddy again. But, it was said that this little ancestor had driven away dozens of nanny.
“Paddy, grandma is getting old. If you keep driving people away, grandma will die of exhaustion,” Mrs. Liu said. She raised her sleeve and wiped her tears.
Her tears obviously made Paddy panic. Paddy’s little hand still held Mrs. Liu tightly. He lowered his head and after a while, he whispered, “Then let her stay.”
Mrs. Liu raised up her head to the direction which Paddy couldn’t see, turning to Helen and winking at her.
Helen was taken aback for a moment because her ‘naughty’ was incompatible with her old age. Then she gratefully nodded her head…
“Mrs. Liu, how is it?” On the one-hundred-story building, a slender figure of a man stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking over from the distance. His fingers was pinching a half-burned cigarette.
“Looks like he accepts it!” On the other end of the call, Mrs. Liu breathed out a sigh of relief. She looked upstairs and there was sound of laughing. Her heart felt warm. How long had it been for this house to emit such laughter? Her gaze was filled with thick reluctance.
