The Lost Female Alpha

Chapter 42

Training was tough. Now that Elijah knew that I was an alpha he was eager to test my fighting skills. On the walk over here I had hoped that I would get to take things a little easy. Maybe spend the session kicking Felix's ass repeatedly but apparently I was out of luck.

Elijah was a much stronger fighter than his brother, I was still stronger than he was but only by a small margin. In terms of raw strength, Elijah and I were pretty evenly matched but I was faster than him so that gave me a slight edge. After a few minutes of sparing the rest of the pack weren't even trying to fight anymore, they were too busy watching us. I felt a little guilty for Kicking Elijah's ass in front of part of his own pack. Not guilty enough to pull my punches though. I was born to be an alpha, both me and my wolf hated to lose.

Elijah and I circled each other, looking for an opening in each other's defences. My wolf was getting impatient, she thought we could take Elijah down easily and she just wanted to end this. With her pushing me forward, I went in for an attack. Elijah moved to block me but at the last minute I changed my direction and jabbed him in the side.

"That was very good but I will make you pay for it later." He whispered so only I could hear. An image flashed through his head of what he wanted to do to me. I was distracted for less than a second but it was enough. Elijah swept my legs out from under me then pinned me on the floor, using his body to keep me in place.

"You did that on purpose," I complained.

"I don't know what you are talking about," he replied, sniggering slightly. Keeping me pinned to the floor, he pressed his lips to my neck. The rest of the pack had gone back to sparing, pretending that they couldn't see what we were doing. At least that was something to be thankful for.

'You might be able to take me in a fight but in the bedroom, I'm in charge.' He told me over mindlink.

'Yes sir,' I replied. I could feel his desire through our bond almost instantly. If we weren't in the middle of a crowded room I think he would have taken me right then and there. He kissed me slowly and seductively for a few seconds longer before getting up and pulling me to my feet.

After our fight we both circulated around the room, checking on the other members of the pack. I wanted to observe everyone in the group. I thought that it would be a chance to speak to some of them and get to know them better but it didn't work out that way. I had to keep stopping what I was doing so I could come back to check on Helen.

She was disappointed when she first arrived (half an hour late) and realised her mate wasn't here. After a few minutes feeling sorry for herself, she decided to stay for the training session anyway. She paired up with Felix and it quickly became clear that this was the first time in years that she had attended any kind of physical training. Her form was sloppy and her moves were poor. I had seen ten year old pups with more skills than she had.

Elijah ended up calling the training session early because she was so worried about Helen hurting herself. The key word being herself, Felix barely touched her and yet everytime Felix took a step towards her, she would flinch. She was constantly falling on the floor or colliding into other people.

The rest of the pack were making their way towards the door while Helen was pulling herself off the floor. Her white leggings and hot pink sports bra that had once been immaculate were now covered in dirt. There were strands of hair sticking out of her high ponytail and she was practically drenched in sweat.

"I am going to be so sore in the morning," she exclaimed. Her breaths were deep and rapid from the physical exertion. She had been trying so hard that the colour of her skin almost matched the colour of her sports bra.

"You seemed as though you were out of practice," I observed. Helen was brushing the dust and dirt off her clothes, trying to make herself look presentable but it was a futile effort. There was nothing that would make those leggings look presentable short of a washing machine.

"My dad doesn't think women should learn to fight. I took a few lessons with a friend of mine until my father found out and killed him." She complained. I could tell the memory was painful for her even though she tried to hide it from me. I didn't know what to say so I put my hand on her shoulder to comfort her. She seemed to appreciate the gesture because her mood lifted and she flashed me a small smile. She finished dusting herself off and set off in the direction of our home. I watched her leave, pretending not to notice the big bad wolf who was sneaking up behind me.

Elijah wasn't nearly stealthy enough to sneak up on me but luckily for him, I wanted to be caught. I stayed still, waiting for him to come up behind me and pull me backwards into his chest. He growled seductively in my ear while lightly nibbling my earlobe.

"I've missed my," he purred in my ear.

"I have been right here the whole time," I replied.

"I know but I don't like it when your attention isn't on me." He buried his face into my neck, kissing me and breathing in my scent. I leaned back into his embrace, reaching backwards so I could run my fingers through his hair.

"We should probably head back," I replied, very reluctantly. I didn't want this moment to end but I didn't want to see his parents' faces when we arrived at dinner late, smelling of sex. Elijah gave a small grunt of frustration before giving in and leading me back home for dinner.

We were just finishing our deserts when Mark came running into the dining room. The first few buttons on his shirt were open to show off his new mark. He was breathing heavily and his eyes were full of concern. Elijah stood up from the table. A moment ago he was completely relaxed, laughing along to some joke his father made. Now he was fully alert and ready for action, his muscles tense and attention focused on Mark.

"There are rogues approaching the border. They are just like the last group but there are lots more of them." Mark said. I abruptly pushed back my chair and got to my feet. Elijah turned to face me.

"Don't even think about it. They are here for you, I am not giving them what they want." His voice left no room for argument but I wasn't happy with his decision. I was a strong fighter and I was never going to be happy letting others fight my battles.

"I don't..." Elijah silenced me midway through my sentence by pressing his lips against mine and kissing my passionately. He ran his tongue along my lips and into my mouth. He kissed me until I stopped fighting him and my muscles relaxed around him, then he took a step back.Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

"You are staying here," he said, firmly. Before I could reply he ran out of the room with Mark following closely behind. Feeling deflated, I sat back down at the table with Elijah's family and buried my feelings in cheesecake.

Elijah's parents and Ava tried their best to distract me from worrying about Elijah but nothing seemed to help. In the end Ava took me back to my end of the house with a huge pot of ice cream so that we could watch films together. Trying to keep my mind off the rogues by making me watch hours and hours of action films. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it wasn't working. That watching the violence was only serving to remind me of what Elijah could be going through right

now.

In the end I just laid on the sofa and let the sounds from the film wash over me. Focusing instead on ice cream, ice cream had never failed me before.
